Geoinformatics M.Sc. student - Geospatial Data Science and Data Engineering
Find Out MoreAs a geospatial specialist with a background in geography and applied geoinformatics, I am deeply passionate about leveraging geospatial data to drive impactful, data-informed decision-making. My academic and professional journey has focused on applying spatial analysis, multivariate statistics, and modelling techniques to real-world challenges—ranging from flood risk assessment and simulating regional energy demand, to conceptualizing sustainable spatial frameworks for the real estate sector and developing participatory GIS applications.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Geography, specializing in GIS and Remote Sensing, from the University of Bonn. During my studies, I explored topics like flood modelling, solar energy potential analysis, and examining the impact of CCTV on crime. My Bachelor's thesis involved simulating energy demand for the Nordlippe region, integrating infrastructure, climate, and energy data.
Building on this foundation, I pursued a Master’s in Applied Geoinformatics at the University of Salzburg, where I deepened my technical expertise. I worked on energy demand simulations using 3D semantic building models and analyzed solar energy potential based on atmospheric data. I also developed web applications, including an e-complaint service for citizens and a COVID-19 dashboard. For my thesis, I conceptualized a sustainable (ESG) spatial framework for the real estate sector.
I'm particularly interested in spatial finance—the intersection of financial decision-making and spatial data analysis—and how geoinformatics can support sustainable investment. My work reflects a strong drive to contribute to solutions that are not only technically robust but socially and environmentally meaningful.
In addition to my academic work, I have contributed to various projects, including the development of automated OpenStreetMap (OSM) data pipelines and the creation of the 'Moment of Stress' algorithm.
For the past two years, I have been working as an ESG Product Manager at DataScience Service GmbH, where I lead the development of regulator-compliant ESG analytics solutions for the real estate and banking sectors.

Extensive experience in applying multivariate statistical techniques to analyse complex datasets and uncover spatial patterns and relationships. Proficient in spatial statistics for modelling spatial dependencies and making predictive analyses (spatial clustering, GWR, K-function, etc.). Expertise in spatial analysis methods, including network analysis, point pattern analysis, surface analysis, etc. Additionally, adept at procedural modelling and spatial simulation to create dynamic, rule-based models of geographical phenomena for both research and practical applications.
Experienced in handling diverse geospatial data types (vector, raster, LiDAR, 3D, sensor data) and automating data collection, manipulation, and management processes (ETL). Expertise in developing pipelines for efficient geospatial data processing, managing object-relational databases, and implementing Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs).
As an ESG Product Manager at DataScience Service GmbH, I led the development of regulator-compliant ESG analytics solutions focused on property valuation and disclosure for the real estate and banking sectors (PropTech/FinTech). Working in an AGILE environment, I managed projects from concept through to deployment, guiding a data team in delivering end-to-end solutions. My role involved defining technical requirements, optimizing data workflows, and acting as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure solutions met strategic goals.
